2006 Season Opens with the Wisconsin Symphonic Winds Friday, June 23 at 8:15 pm Rodman Center for the Arts at Ripon College This select group of 50 professional musicians from throughout Northeastern Wisconsin will lift your spirits as they perform a full range of concert band repertoire from the well-loved marches of John Philip Sousa to great works by the likes o Percy Grainger and Gustav Holst. Conducted by Dr. Rob McWilliams. Free Open rehearsal 4:30-5:30 pm Pre-concert conversation with the artists at 7:30 pm |
| As a warmup to the Festival season, check out pianist Elizabeth Joy Roe,
performing a solo recital at the historic Thrasher Opera House on
Thursday evening, June 15 at 7:30 pm. Ms. Roe is one of those rare
child prodigies who has lived up to the music worlds great
expectations. Having won her first international competition at age 13
(over competitors up to ten years older than she was at the time),
Elizabeth Joy Roe has gone on in the decade since to win many more
prizes, scholarships, and much critical acclaim. She has also earned
both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in piano performance from
Juilliard. Tickets are $17 for adults and $10 for students.
