the Wisconsin Symphonic Winds

This select group of 50 professional musicians from throughout Northeastern Wisconsin will lift your spirits as they perform a full range of concert band repertoire from the well-loved marches of John Philip Sousa to great works by the likes o Percy Grainger and Gustav Holst. Conducted by Dr. Rob McWilliams.
Free Open rehearsal 4:30-5:30 pm
Pre-concert conversation with the artists at 7:30 pm
    As a warmup to the Festival season, check out pianist Elizabeth Joy Roe, performing a solo recital at the historic Thrasher Opera House on Thursday evening, June 15 at 7:30 pm. Ms. Roe is one of those rare child prodigies who has lived up to the music world’s great expectations. Having won her first international competition at age 13 (over competitors up to ten years older than she was at the time), Elizabeth Joy Roe has gone on in the decade since to win many more prizes, scholarships, and much critical acclaim. She has also earned both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in piano performance from Juilliard.
