Overview

The Green Lake Festival of Music is a 30 year old festival focused on chamber music, located in the lovely rural area surrounding Green Lake, Wisconsin.  For the past eleven years, the nationally-known Amelia Piano Trio has conducted a two week chamber music workshop for high school through graduate school strings and pianists each summer. After a successful trial with a single amateur string quartet in 2008, we have decided to add a workshop for adults this summer.  Occurring during the Festival performance season, the workshop will include a performance by the Amelia Trio at Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake.

Faculty

The nationally-known Amelia Piano Trio (www.ameliapianotrio.com) maintains an active touring schedule, in addition to teaching at the Hartt School of Music and Connecticut College.  Winner of an ASCAP award and several awards from Chamber Music America for their innovative teaching residencies,  the trio has performed on National Public Radio’s Performance Today,  the WFMT radio network, and St. Paul Sunday, and appeared in many of our country’s most prestigious venues and music festivals including Caramoor, Ravinia, and Bravo Vail.  They will release their second CD on the Naxos label this year.  In addition to the trio, violist Matt Michelic, Associate Professor of Music at Lawrence Conservatory and a former member of the Kenwood, Da Vinci, and Delos Quartets, will also coach.
